Webber Dogs

January 27, 2009

I was in Hickory over the weekend to celebrate a belated Christmas with my family. Since I was in SE Asia over the holidays, I came back with presents for everyone from Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos and we cooked a big Asian dinner to celebrate.

We’re definitely a “dog family” and have 5 dogs among us. My brother-in-law, who is allergic to dogs, likes to chide that the Webber dogs come higher in the hierarchy than the in-laws. What can I say, the dogs are members of the family too!

Here are a few from the cast….

Ghost: An old soul, very loyal, hardy (and camera shy).

Diego: “Whaddya lookin’ at? Do you want me to bite you?”

Bella: The dog that never stays still.

Jamie and Mary Gould Get Married!

January 20, 2009

Jamie and Mary Gould started 2009 off with a bang! While many people were working on their list of resolutions, these two made the biggest commitment by getting hitched!

Stacey Fraunfelter of Red Letter Events and her second-hand woman, Christy Ruthsatz, put together a stellar day for these two. The ceremony took place at the Summerall Chapel on The Citadel campus where Mary Gould’s father once paraded the grounds as a cadet.

Following the ceremony, guests were shuttled to the Wickliffe House where a tent was set-up outside where guests could spill out from the historical house on to the dance floor.

One of Mary Gould’s bridesmaids helps to apply the final touches on another bridesmaid. They looked stunning in custom made dresses by LulaKate!

Mary Gould has a stunning diamond! She had Jamie’s ring inscribed with a special inside joke between the two of them, “You are my Person”.

The couple before the ceremony… photographed separately as they did not want to see each other before the ceremony.

Mary Gould had a great set of bridesmaids, though there’s actually one missing from this shot! They did a great job of making her laugh.

This is a shot taken by Jebb Graff, who helps me shoot all my weddings!  While I am shooting the formal shots, he’s on the 70-200mm long lens getting all the great candids. I love this one he took of on of the priests, who was also a family friend.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Moorhead!

This was a decadently delicious wedding cake, one of the best I’ve ever tasted!  It was a marble cake by Ashley Bakery.

Mary Gould’s dad is quite a character. Here he is on stage dancing to YMCA!

At the end of the night, the newly weds left under the glow of sparklers and took off in a Charleston Black Cab.  Congrats!

Paul & Serena’s Christmas Wedding

January 13, 2009

Paul and Serena were married on December 12, 2008 at the Cotton Dock in Boone Hall Plantation. They embraced the holiday season and went with a Christmas theme and their ideas were boundless and creative. The Cotton Dock felt like a cozy winter lodge. Christmas trees, holly and mistletoe filled it with green. Homemade Christmas cookies were laid out in tiers along with their family recipes, which were given as gifts. (That was among my favorite touches!) Hot cider and coffee kept everyone warm as they sat by a roaring fireplace in the rocking chairs.

The also have a wonderful wedding website & blog that they created to keep their friends and family in the loop with all the wedding plans and to get them excited about the big day. Check it out! www.12-12-08.blogspot.com

It was a close collection of friends and family and a wonderful way to start of the holiday season. Jebb Graff, photographer extraordinaire and lighting guru, helped me shoot this wedding. Hopefully he’ll be putting a few pics up on his blog. Here are a few of my shots from their wedding day…

Serena’s dress was hanging on a beautiful lace hanger.  I love how the sun is back lighting the dress so you can see the detail of the lace in the straps.

Serena and her bridesmaids toast after getting ready out at a house on Wild Dunes. Look at that blue sky!

Paul had a great group of groomsmen who were both funny and easy to photograph.

I love this classic shot of Serena as she waits in the limo before the ceremony.

The ceremony was held on the Cotton Dock in the late afternoon. The sun was beautiful streaming through.

Following along the Christmas theme, the boutonnieres were made from Christmas tree branches and festooned with a bell.

I think Serena looks absolutely stunning in this shot.

This Christmas tree was decorated with old photos of Paul and Serena and their families.  A second Christmas tree held ornaments which each guest signed and hung on the tree. Gifts from guests were placed under the trees.

This red velvet cake looked so beautiful and the red was perfect for the occasion!

At the end of the night, guests threw “snow” on Paul and Serena as they made their exit.

All About Aidan

January 12, 2009

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing Mollie & Josh and their star, Aidan. Aidan is 15 months old and though he is use to being photographed by his mom Mollie, (who is also a photographer!), it took him a little bit to warm up to a new face behind the camera. But as soon as he saw a few puppy dogs walk by, his face lit up and we were off!

We started down near Waterfront park to get a few shots with the cobblestones and then moved over to the Cistern at the College of Charleston. It was a fun way to spend Saturday morning!

This is one of my favorite shots of Aidan. I think he’s checking out the dogs.

Josh could make Aidan laugh the hardest by tickling his neck. Aidan loved it.

I love how this is a “family” portrait, starring Aidan.

Mother and Son. He was definitely happiest in her arms.

The Cistern has great light in the morning! And lots of space for little boys to run.
