Smitten Magazine : Seating Etiquette

January 27, 2012

January is a notoriously busy month for wedding planning. As we hit January 1st, how many of you said… “My wedding is this year!!!” and then frantically started adding to your list of “to do’s”? Well don’t panic yet, we’re here to help make the run up to your wedding day a little easier.

In the latest issue of Smitten Magazine, Emilie Dulles of Dulles Designs walks us through whether you should assign tables and/or seats for your guests and the best way to do it. I always love talking to Emilie and asking her my etiquette questions. She’s a gem! Read on to see what she has to say this month!

Life Drawing

January 22, 2012

These remind of the life drawing classes I use to take at Redux. I always wished I could draw like this, smoothing the charcoal, making even gradients and transforming real life onto paper to keep it that way forever. It might take me a lifetime to learn how to do that, so in the meantime, I take photos.

But still, these are only half way done. The ultimate challenge is creating flawless, continuous tone prints of these images. So often we allow our photos to live solely online, quickly washed away into the detritus by the next day’s wave of information and images. But getting them off the screen and onto paper is one of the most beautiful moments in photography.

Smitten Magazine : Signature Drink

January 16, 2012

It’s here! Issue four of the gorgeous, informative and truly inspirational Smitten Magazine has arrived!

This issue features two inspirational shoots, one by Lisa Lefkowitz and the other by Richard Israel, as well as a great collection  of real weddings to peruse for your own wedding ideas. And if you need to indulge and imbibe a little as you thumb through, feel free to make your own “Basil Tito” that I photographed on page 105. Doesn’t it look scrumptious?

Enjoy!
