I love it when I get to photograph weddings for Kristin Newman Designs as I am always guaranteed an outstanding wedding to photograph with unbelievable details, a totally unique and polished look, and a detailed time line. For those of you sitting on the fence about getting a wedding coordinator, do! They can be a God-send!
Alicia, a Canadian, and Eric, a South Carolina boy, met at graduate school and decided to get married at the quintessentially Southern Boone Hall Plantation this past Saturday. It was a hot one for the Canadian’s, but all I heard were ooh’s and aah’s over the history laden scenery. And boy do Canadians dance!
Heather Ahern of Gathering did a fabulous job with the flowers and decor and Cru Catering served up quite the feast. After a seated dinner, the guests partied to the Root Doctors, whom I am happy to say, did not play the Macarena.

Eric the groom, front and center, looks like movie star here. These guys were great sports and let me take a ton of photos of them even though it was close to 90-degrees out.

The flower girl, a niece of the groom (and well now the bride!), hold one of the bridesmaid’s bouquets.

My friend Amy Martin photographed this wedding with me. She captured this shot during the ceremony. I love how the design of the gate blurs in the background, it almost looks a bit mystical!

The dresses by Lula Kate looked great with the Spanish moss hanging off of the oak trees down the alee.

These butler cards and menus personalized with exquisite calligraphy, really added an extra touch of elegance.

The reception was held in the Cotton Dock. I love doing ambient shots like these.

The cake had the names of all the guests piped on to the icing. It was such a cool way to honor everyone who had come. I like how Alicia’s hand is resting on Eric’s arm.
