Cameliathorpe

I’m channelling my inner Mapplethorpe. (In flower photography only, not all the other interesting aspects of his life.)

Question: Which do you like better… color or b&w?

  1. I just saw Mapplethorpe’s exhibit in the Accademia in Florence, Italy this past November and it was INCREDIBLE! Leigh, you are incredibly talented, too!

  2. Stacy Howell says:

I love the black and white. One of my all time favs of Mapplethorpe’s is a portrait he did of Gregory Hines.

  3. I love the way that the veins of the flower are more dominant in the B&W. Also focal point seems more defined b/c the petals to the left in the B&W are able to recede more into the background. With the color photograph, I enjoy the way that the petals have a more cool visible light at the tips on the left and right side.
