About

Leigh Webber is an award-winning photographer, writer, traveler and mama who grew up in Hickory, North Carolina.

After graduating from the Savannah College of Art & Design, Leigh took to the road, landing in San Francisco just as digital photography was just taking off. She spent the next six years armed with one of the first digital Leaf back on a traditional 4 x 5 camera, fine turning her photography and retouching skills.

Wanderlust and a ceaseless curiosity sent Leigh, her camera and travel journal on adventures through Europe, India, Morocco, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia with a year-long stint in Australia for good measure.

Landing once again, this time in Charleston, South Carolina, she began helping a friend and fellow photographer shoot weddings. Before long, Leigh found herself “saying yes” to brides in Charleston and around the country.

Leigh Webber Photography officially opened in 2004. Her work has been featured in an array of national magazines, including Smitten, Garden & Gun, Outside Magazine, Southern Weddings and Coastal Living. She is the lead photographer for Smitten Magazine and regularly photographs editorial features on the latest wedding trends and fashions. Her wedding images can often be found on an array of wedding blogs such as The Wedding Row, Junebug Weddings, Style Me Pretty, and Lover.ly.

At the heart of Leigh’s work is her love of capturing moments and all the little details that help tell the story. Honest, intimate moments; simple, beautiful details; and clean and graphic images are common in her work.

In 2011, she created her first book, The First 52 Weeks, a photographic and written journal chronicling her son Seamus’ first year. She worked with Stitch Design Co. to design the look of the book and had an exhibit of the images in March 2012.

Leigh continues to discover new means of expression and is currently delving deeper into both book projects and photography & journaling workshops.

Today, Leigh makes her home in Charleston with her partner, Bryan, and son, Seamus. You will most likely find her capturing moments while simultaneously living in them.
