Have you read Allison Tate’s article on The Huffington Post, “The Mom Stays in the Picture“? It’s been making the rounds and I’ve had several people mention it to me. Her piece about how she came to the realization that despite the fact she may not be feeling or looking her most photogenic, it’s important for her to be in the photos with her children- if nothing else, for historical sake. She writes, “When I look at pictures of my own mother, I don’t look at cellulite or hair debacles. I just see her — her kind eyes, her open-mouthed, joyful smile, her familiar clothes. That’s the mother I remember.”.
I hear it a lot that I need to be in more of the photos I send out of our little family. And I agree. We’re actually going to be photographed as a family tomorrow by one of my close friends.
