Last night, the Charleston Wine + Food Festival hosted the Ultimate Critic’s Dinner on an incredible property called “Ashem Farm”. Ashem has been in the Ravenel family for years and according to the Charleston Wine + Food website, dates to the “first Carolina colony”. This was the first public event to ever be held on the property, though there are sure to be more as the land has recently been donated to the Lowcountry Open Land Trust.
Unfortunately I was not there as a guest to sample the exquisite fare of chefs such as Mike Lata, Jeremiah Bacon and Sean Brock. (Though what I really wanted to try was a specialty cocktail called “The Ashem”, which has Maverick citrus vodka, rainwater Maderia, lemonade, ice tea and mint simple syrup in it!)
Instead, I was there to photograph the incredible decor and detail that Red Letter Events and Stems created for the event. Guests moved among three different locations on the property and event spaces were created for each. Below are some of my favorite touches and color from the event. Way to go, gals! It looked incredible!!!
