One of the lessons I’ve learned after yeas of photographing people outdoors is that retreating storms bring about the best light. When I woke up that morning, we were under a tropical storm watch for Alberto, who seems to develop out of the blue the night before. I was ready to reschedule the engagement session, but luckily, Haley didn’t get my text! So we met on an early Sunday morning down at the Battery and the conditions couldn’t have been any better. In addition to great light, there weren’t too many tourists out and even better, these two love the camera! I’m looking forward to their wedding in a few months for more smiles and fun photos.
