Joanna and Will’s First Scots & Mills House Wedding
There could not have been a more wedding to kick off the Spring wedding season here in Charleston! Joanna and Will are one of the sweetest couple ever and I was so honored to be there to capture their wedding day.
The day began with the girls and the guys getting ready at the Mills House where Joanna and Will had their first look. From the looks on each of their faces, I can not imagine a pair more excited to get married. Their energy and love for each other was so contagious and it set the tone for the entire day. It may have been raining, but it never affected the celebration of the day.
The reception followed in the grand ballroom at the Mills House. One of my favorite features was the incredible candy bar complete with cute little paper bags and a selection of pink and green candy to choose from! They also had a super adorable cake by Ashley Bakery along with especially engraved forks to feed each other.
Their band brought out the dancer in everyone and the Momentum Party Band kept the dance floor packed all night. One of the highlights was the rap a friend of theirs did, which included a few funny lyrics about the hangouts in my hometown of Hickory. I got a great laugh out of that!
Here are some of my favorite photos from their wedding day. It’s definitely a great one to remember! Congratulations Joanna and Will!!!
The first look!
2 handsome ring bearers!
The bridesmaids wore dresses from J. Crew and Joanna found her Martina Liana dress at Fabulous Frocks.
I love all the energy and conversations going on in this photo!
This little fur stole is perfect. The flowers by Wildflowers, Inc. are too.
It’s always special to get photos of the treasures that are handed down generation to generation on such a special occasion.
Mr. & Mrs.
These two are naturals. It’s so easy to photograph a couple in love.
Candy lovers unite!
Ashley Bakery made the most adorable pink and green cake you’ve ever seen.
This was during the “Hickory Rap” that a friend of theirs did. Hilarious!
Happily ever after!
Thank you to Sally Watts for all of her help photographing this wedding!
