You get great light in your bedroom and on certain afternoons, I stop to take note of how the light shines in. This is one of my favorite vignettes in there. In a way, it sums up everything that consumes me.
For starters, there is the framed photo of your brand new baby teeth that is from the First 52 Weeks book. It’s one of my favorites and I’m so proud to have taken that photo in the first place. I have to credit all the people out there who warned me that “time flies” and that “he’ll be grown up before you know it”. Because of all those prophecies, I made a real and concerted effort to document every single moment. Two and a half years later, I have a book proposal written and I am almost ready to (finally!) submit your book to Chronicle. Fingers crossed, everyone.
That photo sits in the built-in bookcases your dad built for you in your room when I was 3 months pregnant with you. That was definitely a labor of love.
And the photos is surrounded by all these wonderful children’s book that are full or color and new vocabulary, adventures and dinosaur sounds. I will admit that I didn’t love reading to you when you were a baby because you always wanted to wiggle away and you never paid attention. But now that you can participate in pointing out things on the pages, it is a lot more fun.
Lastly, there is that funny little vintage doo-dad that I love. It makes me want to scour Ebay for vintage toys to photograph. Perhaps I will one day…
