On the way home from school yesterday, we got stuck in that awful traffic on James Island after the bridge ap Wapoo Cut was closed off. Rather than sit in the car another hour, we made a detour to the awesome park near Riverland Terrace that’s on the water and across the street from the fire station.
2 things happened there. One, you were referred to as a girl by both a child and an adult. Being that you were still wearing your kilt, I shouldn’t be surprised. But, it bugged me more than I expected.
But I didn’t have too long to think about it as a fire truck rolled in and you pretty much went nuts. They were nice enough to let you climb aboard and wear a fire fighter’s hat. You wore it from that moment on. All over the playground. Even to bed. And even when waking me up at 5am.
